Your Daughter Could be a “Girl of the Moment” Winner!
On the Miss O & Friends website (where girls can play 100% safely), we like to celebrate all the awesome things girls do! It’s important to encourage girls to share their accomplishments and things they are proud of, even if it’s something small! To be a Miss O & Friends Girl of the Moment Winner, we ask girls to think about things they’ve done at school, at home, in the community etc. that have made an impact on her life or someone else’s.
It doesn’t have to be anything huge, although it can be. It’s the little things in life that count… and that’s what we’re looking for.
If you think your daughter should be a Miss O & Friends Girl of the Moment Winner, we would love to hear her story! GOTM Saveme98 turns her Dyslexia into a positive!
I’m a dyslexic who loves to act. Dyslexia (as most people know) is a learning disability. It’s different for everyone who has it. For me, it makes it difficult to comprehend what people are saying to me, it’s hard for me to say sentences properly, so they can’t quite understand me. I have troubles reading, writing, speaking, doing math, following instructions, knowing my left from right, I have a short term memory issue, and many more problems. Well, even with all of those problems, I don’t give up too easily. I love acting, so I try acting like cool/smooth characters who have great grammar, are really smooth with tough situations, and read all the time. Now, I read way above my grade level (even though there is difficultly), I can speak with little difficulty, I applied for a job, and I might even go into voice acting for anime– Very soon. I can also deal with tough situations, which means dealing with my little sister. She can get a bit out of control, but if I really try, I can calm her down. And, I feel good when I do.
GOTM Hollyberry132 revived her hometown movie theater!
My name is Grace, and I’m 11 years old. A local movie theater in my town got shut down and at school I heard a lot of kids wishing they could go back to it and watch all of the latest movies. As soon as I heard the sadness in people’s voices I wanted to make a difference, and thought of some things our town hasn’t had for a while. I overheard my mom and dad talking about when they where little and they used to have annual talent shows and I thought that that should be what my difference could be, having a talent show! So I talked with my parents and they told my aunt, who was on the board for the arts council in my town and we got right on it. We brainstormed ideas like where we should have it, who should judge, and all that crazy stuff. A couple weeks later my aunt got it approved by the head of the arts council and even got a sponsor! It took all summer to plan and a couple meetings, (One day while they where having a meeting I was going to our beach house in Florida and couldn’t make it so I got to video chat them from the hotel room!) but we finally got it done! My cousin and I got to be the hosts and we got three judges. We raised over 10,000 dollars and now the movie theater is almost back up to its old form.
GOTM Mikaelajean is a black belt in tae kwon do!
Hi my name is Mikaela Jean. I am a 12 year old girl who has a passion for tae kwon do. I finally reached black belt a few months ago. During the week, when I don’t have tae kwon do classes, I go to my studio and help out the little kids and help them become great martial artists. Last year and this year, I competed around the states and received an award as California’s tae kwon do state champion in all categories. Little kids look up to me so I do my best to be a great example to them.
