Your biggest change made with the economic downturn?

I would say that “cooking in” instead of “eating out” has been one of my biggest changes. It’s amazing how much you can spend for a simple dinner out. We all take turns cooking and the family agrees that our food is actually better and tastier than what you can order out. My 17 year old daughter has become quite the chef and she is always coming up with new recipes in her head. It’s great bonding time to spend with your children, cooking. Each week we try to cook something new we have never made before.
I must say I buy good ingredients, mostly natural or organic if it’s not too expensive. Cooking with “real food” makes such a difference.
What would you say your biggest change in spending is these days?
