New Recipe Ideas For Kids

“Anything I can make that gives my kids some protein and helps them through until dinner gets my vote,” says Amanda of her Creamy Spring Herb Dip. “You can also spread this on sandwich wraps or serve it on a bagel. Add anything you’d like to make this your own — cooked bacon bits, shredded cheddar, green onions instead of shallots, water chestnuts . . . whatever! Serve it with sliced cucumbers, jicama, carrots, or with crackers, and enjoy!”
Melt-in-Your-Mouth Short Ribs (With Minimal Effort!)
“I made this recipe up one night after my kids ate honey mustard chicken somewhere,” Amanda says. “This can be done with salmon or chicken breasts. I grill my salmon, but it could be baked just as easily at 400˚F in your oven. Just put it in a well-oiled baking dish and forget about using the aluminum foil.”
“My mom always cooked from scratch when I was a child, so the boxed Shake ‘n Bake that my friends’ parents served was out of the question,” Amanda told us. “Instead, she’d make this crunchy chicken with parmesan cheese and bread crumbs. It seemed to do the trick. Just baking it today brought back a flood of memories. It’s better than any fried chicken, chicken finger/tender, or fast food out there, and so much better for you. My version uses gluten-free bread, but feel free to substitute regular bread if you’d prefer.”
